Art Camp Week

Each week we are in town this summer the kids are in camp at their preschool, Oakland Baptist.  This week was Art Camp…Delaney’s favorite!  Last week was Chef Camp and next week is Sports Camp…then we are off to the beach!

I am having a hard time with getting the kids to behave lately, well, mainly Delaney.  This particular afternoon I was almost to my “explode” time when I thought about the books I’m reading, “Scream-free parenting” and “Grace-based parenting” and I thought, I need to change my attitude and I need to just be with my kids without distraction.  So I flipped the couch around and threw a blanket on top, we had so much fun just playing together this afternoon.  It made us all happy!

More house pictures

 

As we settle in I have more and more pictures to share of the new house.  I recently found two pieces of furniture I love from Black Lion.  The first is in my bathroom (I still have to hang the picture) and the other is in the foyer.

Delaney and Blake’s rooms are beside each other.  I got his oar’s hung not too long ago and we are waiting to do more to Delaney’s until she’s in a big girl bed.  I hope that’s not until the fall, but I feel like we may be getting close.

Mom and Dad’s birthday celebration

Each year my parents celebrate their birthdays and anniversary in two days, June 10 and 11.  This year was their 40th anniversary, so we threw them a casual shower with some of their closest friends, so the next day we used the leftover cake to celebrate their birthdays.  Can you tell who actually blew out the candles?  She was READY and taking it all in!

We had a wonderful time with the Collins tonight.  A last minute dinner together, steaks with a wonderful mushroom, onion, and red wine sauce made by Chef Kevin, lead to a fun bath time together with Jackson and Eliza, both just a tad younger than ours.  We are so grateful for such wonderful friendships, this is one of many I cherish.
