Coalson is 7!

We celebrate with Coalson and friends tonight in his backyard with a football party.  Blake played with the big kids and Delaney brought her pom poms and cheer outfit and had a great time!  They love Coalson and enjoyed hotdogs and cookie cake with him.  then they got to spend the night with Mama and Granddad and had a fun time.  Kevin and I enjoyed time out with the Casons and much needed good night sleep without being woken by kids this morning!

Basketball season

We are excited that Blake and Coalson are playing basketball at Oakland together with David as their coach!  They have a good little team of 6 and all are having a ball!  Blake made his first 2 baskets tonight and all 4 grandparents were there to see!  We are so excited for him!

The cousins

IMG_5673The last day at the beach with the cousins was so much fun.  It started with all the little cousins waking up Taylor.

IMG_5687Then we were off for a final boat ride.  They all experienced the tube, IMG_5695expect Blake, he says “maybe the next day after tomorrow.IMG_5701IMG_5702IMG_5706IMG_5730

Then we headed off for the last swim in the pool.  They all had PB and honey for lunch and Peyton put Delaney to bed for a nap while Coalson put Blake to bed for a nap.

A trip to the neighbor’s house

walk to coalsonsAll we have to do is walk over the bridge and through the beautiful woods to go visit Cousin Coalson in the afternoons.  We have really enjoyed having kids to play with in the afternoons since the move, there is always something going crazy hairon in the neighborhood.  Coalson is glad to have Blake and Delaney there so he doesn’t have to play with 9 year olds all the time.  The static got to Delaney on the slide, this was just before she slide down the climbing wall.  Oops, I turned my head for 30 seconds.

A nap to remember

I had all three kids, Blake, Delaney, and Cousin Coalson today for lunch and naptime, so I decided to let the boys attempt to sleep in the same room together.  We read some books, sang some songs, I got downstairs and I saw this on the monitor…IMG_4265all three sitting up and chatting…

Finally after about 20 minutes they fell asleep and then the boys started checking on each other again.  Coalson woke Blake up, then Blake IMG_4267finally went in, gave them a few books and then wouldn’t let Coalson go back to sleep, one thing after another.  Anyway, I saw this.  They sat quietly while Delaney slept and enjoyed each other for 30 minutes or so.  They love each other…

A night with Coalson

IMG_1892We had a fun night with Coalson while Kevin was gone having dinner and becoming Monsters as we ate our beans and veggies, drinking our milk to become a slimy monster, and washing it all away in a bath with 3.

Watch out Blake, here she comes…

As it approached 7pm, Delaney’s bedtime, they were al cozy in their matching pj’s so I thought I’d take a picture, this was the best I could do, she was SO TIRED, therefore, WILD!

I’m 31 years old, Blake is 3

IMG_1023We celebrated Blake and my birthdays at David and Pam’s house today.  Blake and Delaney love being with their cousins to play, we had a great afternoon!  Thanks for hosting Pam!

No one knows why this sweet girl went from one extreme to the other, Taylor was playing with my IMG_1028new camera and snapped her crying, I love the face, one I see often, but never think to take a IMG_1030picture of the emotion.  Notice she has on two dresses?  She insisted on wearing both of them and then wanted the construction apron on top when we arrived.  Birthday and Christmas dresses, appropriate.

IMG_1033Peyton and Coalson get along great most of the time.  They play hard and Blake follows right along with them.  When we get in the car after being with him Blake says, “Mommy I played hard with the boys.”  He stands up fro himself now and actually is the instigator sometimes.  He’s come a long way.

IMG_1059Blake and I got to blow our candles out together tonight, what fun!  Naked Delaney, ready for her red icing, helped a little too.  IMG_1063Poor thing has watched people open presents 3 times this week and it’s not her turn yet.  She’s doing great waiting and only attempted one this year before it was time.

The Beach

Back at the beach remembering the fun from earlier this summer already: the sand, shells, and climbing the stairs

Granddad helped them "fish" in the pool, the $1 fishing rods were fun, but the fish didn't stick well.  Mr. Moody and dad had just as much fun with them I think.

Delaney loves to move, sometimes it is in a swing, but most of the time it's in the pool.  She'll pull on her clothes and grab her suit letting us know she's ready to get in.  Leave it to her to be the first of my kids to poopie in the swim diaper, a yucky watery change!!!

It's always a lot of fun with Mama and Granddad.  Mama likes to take the kids to feed the birds and Granddad loves getting in the pool with them.

The beach is always a new adventure, we enjoy looking for shells, jumping the waves, digging holes, but mainly playing in the sand.  Blake likes to have trucks in it, Delaney enjoys pouring water from one thing to the next and going to the ocean to get more.
Daddy visited for the weekend after his first week of school.  It was nice having him with us for two full days, wish it was longer!

Diva Delaney, she is so proud of herself when she looks so stylish.  Blake is not enjoying getting his sunscreen rubdown.  Have you seen this boy's tan?  His sister is going to be jealous one day!

I took this picture while enjoying a little tune in my head, "Life is good today, yeah, life is good today".  Actually, I sang this to myself all weekend!

A ride on the golf cart is always suggested.  This time we were on our way for...

...ice cream!!!

We tried getting a good family picture but the wind wasn't working on our side.  This one was the best of about 30 tries.  LOVE this one of Delaney and me.
Yummy Oreo Icecream that Mama made.  It's a favorite food at the beach, along with Vegetable Salad, gorp, and Popsicles!

Granddad had to go home for a couple days and he came back with Cousin Coalson!  We were all excited to have him!  Here we are out on another adventure with Mama to feed the birds on the dock.

Sometimes the birds come and don't stay around, but we had leftover hush puppies today!  They were all over us!  Blake wants to sit in the chair, but Coalson and Delaney are all over the dock.

Today was really cool, we were out there when a barge went by!  It blow it's horn for us and all!
I love my parents, they have been a huge help with the kids and the kids have so much fun with them.  We are so blessed to have a great family!

This was an active day on the beach with the kids running around.  But it was great for me, I took a chair and actually got to sit most of the time, thanks mom and dad!!!!
Blake is learning how to share in full speed this week.  He and Delaney live together and I guess have just learned to adapt to each other.  Coalson and Blake are like siblings in a good ways and bad.  They love each other so much and enjoy being with each other, but the sure fight and always want what the other has, well mainly Blake wants what Coalson has.  He shared his green bowl today, it was a major step and he was so proud of himself!  I was even more proud, especially since school starts next week!
We had to leave in a bit of a hurry Friday morning due to Hurricane Irene coming so we could beat the traffic out.  I thought we would leave about 8:30, but since Coalson and Blake were up about 5:20am we were up, packed, fed, and ready to leave at 7:30am.  The trip home went pretty well and we were home by 12 for lunch and naps as usual.
