We went to the dentist today. Dr. Michelle is a great doctor and the kids both did great. We went one time before to a different doctor but they didn’t remember it. Blake needed me to hold his hand the whole time. Delaney jumped right up in the big chair, let her lay her back and clean her teeth without me even sitting beside her. They both have good teeth and we left with bags full of goodies (including floss, really?!?!)

A kiss for Pops
We let our balloons from Harris Teeter go after we get them, usually in the parking lot before we leave, but today we brought them home. I have said before that we let the balloons go to send them to God so he can give them to the kids in heaven. Today on the way home Blake said he bet we could send them to Pops. What a compassionate kid! I suggested they kiss the balloon and send him a kiss with it…up, up, and away goes the kiss to Poppie in heaven!
Bread Making
This was an EASY and good recipe. It’s Whole Wheat Honey bread made with our VERY local honey from Camp that we picked up with the eggs last week. YUMMY!!! The kids enjoyed it this week.

Brother/Sister time
I am trying to encourage the kids to have brother/sister time this summer and really get them to work on playing nice together and getting along. They talk with each other, help each other, and actually share. I think they play better without me right there with them. Plus, it is nice for me to be able to step away for 20 min to clean the kitchen or fold laundry without “help”. These legos have been put up for a while and I pulled them out not long ago. They play with them EVERYDAY! Delaney likes them more than Blake and will sit for a long time making them taller and taller. She figures things out on her own often and Blake will learn from her. It amazes me how much they were made for each other and need each other. Thank you God for creating them as siblings. They will tell each other out of the blue that they love the other one. That melts my heart!
Oobleck!
We made Oobleck today, it’s so much fun and a great way to learn about solids and liquids. I used to make it when I taught. It’s just 3 drops food coloring, cornstarch and water and cleans up so easy, but it’s so messy-fun! You see who dumped hers right out and played with it a long time and who left his in the bowl and wouldn’t touch it.

Play date…
We had a play date with Tucker, Spencer and their little sisters today in the back yard. The popsicles are a hit, we only get them when friends are over. I’ve really
enjoyed getting to know new ladies as the kids have gotten older and made friends in school. Noelle and Joy are two of them that I have become fast friends with and I appreciate their friendship already.
Another wonderful social gathering with our Sunday School class
We had another wonderful day with our friends in our Sunday School class. We gathered at David
and Pam’s house with a HUGE inflatable water slide for the kids/adults to play on. We had lots of great food and desserts to share
and many memories were made playing together. I am so glad to have these wonderful people in my life!
Bailey and Blake were all over the place today, it’s funny how when kids this age get together they kind of “buddy” up. Last year Blake didn’t want to even give the slide a chance, I finally made him. this year he was taking his shoes off as soon as he saw it. Delaney of course went right up to the top. She liked for me
to go with her, but she did quite fine on her own. It took her a little longer than other to climb the stairs, but she’d go
super fast down, head first and bounce off the wall at the bottom.

A man we’ll all remember
Pops passed away this week and it brought all the MacDonald family together. We share happy times we remembered about him and we shared tears together. Blake said he was excited for Pops because he got to live with God and Jesus now. It’s so tough for us to think of death this way, but it did remind me to try to remember we
should celebrate that he is now living along side of God in a perfect world forever. At the funeral Tom, his son, wrote a nice piece about him, it was very fitting for him and brought many memories to surface for the grandkids and great-grandkids. We even sung, “You are my Sunshine” a song he used to sing to all the kids. Blake and Delaney like for us to sing “Poppie’s song” to them now at night.
A few family pictures from the day.

Homemade Oatmeal play dough
I think they had more fun making it, but I forgot to take pictures. They loved playing with dough that they made. I don’t know what it is about Delaney and play dough, she is obsessed with it!

Internal God
There is a Trinity that we all know, but how well do we know Him? How well do we listen to Him. One of the things I want to teach my children over their 18 years that I have to teach them is about the third piece of the Trinity that it took me so long to feel and understand, my Internal God, Jesus living in my heart. I always knew it and I always believed it, but I don’t think I really knew what to think about when I felt Jesus leading me through my prayer. After my Bible Study today with a fabulous group of ladies, I thought about it lot and we talked about those instincts that is God leading you. I wanted to write a note now to my kids before I missed the opportunity to explain a little about that feeling.
Kids, God is awesome, Jesus is so good and loves all the little children, which you 2 love to sing right now, but there is more to it that knowing God and Jesus is in heaven and you can pray to them. Jesus and God live within your hearts. He is always there with you, how do you know? What do you listen for? Your gut. When you think, “I shouldn’t do this” or “I don’t think this is right” that is God speaking to you through your gut, your instincts. Listen to them, listen to God, those feelings that you get that are amazing, goose bump moments, that is God showing you that He is so happy about something because He lives within you. God is with you, God is in you, God lives in you. Always remember that, God is with you and He is always there to guide you through your instincts, your thoughts, your emotions. Listen to them and let them lead you in the right direction. Watch out for Satan, he will be around to tempt you with fun and exciting things that at the moment seem so right, but I hope that your gut, that God, will speak up and remind you who you are and to do the right thing.

Life is Good
I want to do all the things that I put off doing because there isn’t time. We are not guaranteed tomorrow and I know there are so many things I would regret if I didn’t have one more day with Kevin, Blake, Delaney, family, and friends. I vow to do the things they want to do and try new things when I’m just not quite sure about it. Too many people on their death bed regret not doing things they wanted to do while they could, why wait til then? I want to live life like I’m dying before I actually am, because LIFE IS GOOD!
