Tea with Mrs. Claus

We went to a tea with Mrs. Claus today with Mama, Pam, and Coalson. The kids used their Fancy Nancy manners and enjoyed a danty tea. We left Lilli Jane at home. Few more years until she will be ready.

All the foods were yummy but so cute and fancy too!

We got to take our picture with "yo" the elf too!

What a fun, memorable day!

National "talk like a pirate" day

With Mama's lead we were off to Krispy Kreme today to get a free dozen donuts for dressing up like pirates! We took our extra dozen to the teachers at Oakland Dayschool.

Mama

"A child needs a grandparent to grow a little more securely into an unfamiliar world."

My children are so blessed to have two amazing grandmothers! My mom loves my kids like I do, she has had an opportunity to have one on one time with each of them to grow closer to them and figure out their own bond. I love seeing the little things they share with her, like pointing out flocks of pelicans, swinging in the hammock, well, sleeping, on the dock, making crafts, and reading, reading, reading! They beam with excitement when they see her or get the chance to go to her house. She gives them the best hugs, let's them cook with her in the kitchen, making sweets, mixing gorp, etc. She also teaches them things that I don't see or know to teach them. It takes family, church, and friends to raise a child, I couldn't ever start to do it alone. I am so glad they have two amazing families to help us raise them in a very special way. Thanks mom for loving our kids in only a way a grandmother can.

Lilli Jane's favorite place at the beach is a lap in the hammock swing...makes her quite tired. Mama's lap anywhere is a favorite of hers, so this combination is perfect!

Reading to all 3

A rare moment tonight that my mom had to read "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish", a long, long book, to all three kids! And they saw through the whole thing. I have been blessed to have my parents around the past couple weeks to help us begin this journey with three. Especially during growth spurts and times she just didn't want to be put down. Kevin has had the big kids, I have had her and they help with all three where needed, it's wonderful!

My mom's Mother's Day gift

I wasn't sure if the flowers my kids made my mom were enough for Mother's Day, so i decided (well God helped) that I would give her a 6th grandchild to go with them. I think she liked the gift. Nothing to unwrap, but quite perfect in so many ways. I loved that this was my Mother's Day gift too, and Kevin's mom. It's a gift that will last forever and always make Mother's Day extra special for all of us.

These are just a few of your first pictures we took. We have 1000, but these will help us remember those early days when you were so small.

Christmas Day afternoon at Mama and Granddad’s house

Christmas with my family always warms my heart with wonderful traditions.  It was different being in a different house this year, especially since I was in the house we are usually in with just the four of us in the morning.  We enjoying all being together and in a new place was great!  There was a new kayak for Granddad!  A toy we’ll all enjoy at the beach next summer.IMG_7324IMG_7332IMG_7338IMG_7341IMG_7351IMG_7367IMG_7369IMG_7371  We read the Christmas story out of a new book this year, the pictures were of Lego people!

We exchanged names for stockings and had lots of fun with that.

We all enjoyed opening presents and of course our favorite, mom’s traditional dinner!  Glad I had an excuse to eat a lot this year!  Taylor and my kids made the cake for Jesus this year and mom and dad ended up with the baby Jesus for next year’s cake.  What a wonderful day!  An exhausting day!  I can’t seem to quit thinking of all the sweet boys and girls getting their new bikes that we helped Santa with this year though!  Many happy, happy kids!

Finally…A beautiful day at the beach

IMG_6022We have been stuck inside for the most part for the past two days, except for our outing to Conway yesterday.  So going to the beach after a cool bike ride this morning was a great treat!  We wore bathing suits and weren’t cold!  We enjoyed the water, built aIMG_6028 big pile of sand to jump on.  We wanted to build a castle, but they kept getting knocked down.  The kids love IMG_6033finding sand fiddlers and we found them in the dry sand today, so we saved many lives by throwing them back.  Then we headed in for a PB&Honey and yogurt and took a nap.  IMG_6050IMG_6051IMG_6055

IMG_6058After the kids both actually slept for their nap today we jumped in IMG_6059the pool for a fun few hours in the pool.  Delaney and Mama enjoyed some time on the hammock together and Blake and mommy had fun in the pool.   Daddy took Delaney down to the end of the dock for their first father/daughter time down there.  IMG_6064I’m sure there will be some conversations to have, for now they can just wave and tell everyone hello.  Kevin cooked us delicious tacos and then had to leave to go back to Rock Hill to work for the week. We will sure miss him until he returns on Friday.

A night out at the beach

IMG_5748We have pretty much stayed in for dinner most nights at theIMG_5755 beach (there a month).  But one night when it was just me, the kids, and my parents we decided to clean up, put on make up (I didn’t do that much) and head out.  We went to Calabash to eat supper, see the boats, and run by a store.  I have such cute summer clothes for them and we live in T-shirts, I was ready with the camera!IMG_5761IMG_5762IMG_5766

Mom and Dad have been such a big help.  I have been with the kids 24/7.  They were awesome about giving me breaks and helping with stuff so I wasn’t overwhelmed with Kevin being gone.  We sure missed him during the week, but it was nice to have him come for long weekends.
