Preschool starts! On to a regular schedule now...

Preschool finally started and everyone is glad to be back on a regular schedule.  Lilli Jane has Ms. Allison, her first time going to preschool!  Delaney has Mrs. Taylor and is the oldest class this year, she's excited!

Helping big brother with homework and nightly game night after Lilli Jane goes to bed is so much fun!

Donuts for Dad

Daddy was invited to a Valentine’s Day “Donuts for Dad” at preschool.  He went to Delaney’s on Wednesday and Blake’s on Thursday.  Mama went with Delaney on Thursday.  The kids thought this was extra special and loved time with daddy.

Sweaty, sweet boy

phjanoto 1 (2) janphoto 1 Sometimes you just play so hard you sweat.  Blake does this all the time, but especially when they stay for lunch bunch at school and play in the gym for a while.  I used to climb in and out of this sink when I was little.  As you see, they both enjoy this today.  Why buy a new sink, this is much more fun!

1st day of Preschool

I feel you in my bones, I feel you in my heart. I know in my soul, you have loved me from the start. You made me who I am and all I will ever be, when I see you, I see me.

I love you both from the bottom of my heart and soul.  More than I ever knew that I could love another human.  I can't believe that both of you are already so grown up.  The time goes by too quickly.  I am so blessed to have had the time I have had with you both already and hope for many, many wonderful years together.  "I love you all the up to heaven and back!" as Blake says.

Blake's first field trip!

Last week Blake went on his first field trip with his class at Oakland Dayschool to the local pumpkin patch at a nearby church.  I loved watching him play with his friends and enjoy the day.  Griffin (blue shirt) is a good buddy from church, Walker (spider shirt) was in his class last year and they still see each other often at school, and Izzy (orange dress) has been in his class 2 years now for 4 days.  He's gotten to know her well.

Spencer is in his class again this year too, they were so cute during the trip, they stuck by each other's side the whole time.  Even holding hands at times.  Cute toddlers!

Clapping for Preschool

It's been a crazy couple weeks with preschool starting with both kids, Delaney for the first time, and Blake after a summer home with me and having 2 sets of new teachers.  He goes to one set on Mon/Wed and the others on Tues/Thurs, but has a lot of the same kids in his class.  He's missing Griffin and Walker this year, he doesn't get to see them much.  Delaney cried all last week for 75%-95% of each of the 3 days.  This week on Monday she cried until about 10:30, Tuesday and Wednesday she was done by 9:45, and today?  Today on the way to school Blake was excited, we were talking about it and she started clapping, yesteday she was crying the whole way.  She only cried a little when I left her at early drop off, but was her happy self the rest of the day!!!

So why all of the sudden did she decide she was ok?  Because she has a duck outfit that she loves to wear!  Monday and Tuesday was duck day and I took it so they could use it for their group time.  Once they brought it out she marched over to it, wanted to put it on, and didn't cry again.  It worked the same way the next day, so her teachers said she can be a duck any day, even if it's Lion Day!  So it's staying at school.

Preschool begins

Both kids will attend Oakland Baptist Day School this year.  Blake has gone for the past year and a half and had the teachers that Delaney will have this year, they are so wonderful!  I went to OBC Dayschool as a little girl and my mom actually help to start it in 1980, we have a lot of roots here, it's exciting to be a part of it and have a second generation.
Monday we went for Open House and met Blake's teachers Mrs. Helms and Ms. Nikki that he'll have Monday and Wednesday, we also got to drop in Delaney's class with Ms. Leane and Ms. Jennifer briefly.
Tuesday, after handbell practice, we visited with Blake's Tuesday and Thursday teachers Ms. Tina and Ms. Allison, then we went for another visit to Delaney's class lasting a little longer this time and we got to meet a couple friends.  This is the beginning of the "ease-in" schedule they have for them this week.

Wednesday Blake went from 9-10am for his first day without mom and Delaney went from 10-10:45. Blake cried when I dropped him off, but they said he just stuck beside Ms. Nikki, who he was around at Early Drop off a lot last year, and was fine after 15-20 min.  When I dropped Delaney off she started to play with Ms. Leane so I sneaked out.  She was fine for 15-20 min playing with the other kids and doing great, then she started to cry when she looked up and realized I wasn't there.  They said she went off and on like that for the next 20 minutes.
