Soccer awards

Delaney turns 6!

Delaney has grown up so much over this past year!  She has embraced school and loves to speak Spanish.  She told me recently she speaks more Spanish than English.  lol.  She wanted to go to Charandas for her birthday celebration even! She has taken off on her reading and is following in her brother's footsteps with reading very quickly.  She tries to write things all the time, she doesn't get spelling yet, but she knows what she is writing. 

She loves to play sports with her brother and tried basketball and is about to start soccer this year.  She has several friends she talks about at school and still enjoys going to church.  She tries hard on everything she puts her mind to and uses art to release her stress.  She still wants to be with Mommy all the time, but gives life a try too.  

Her birthday party this year was an American Girl Doll party at our house.  She had about 15 friends come over for "tea".  We quickly found out this was way too many kids for her to handle at once.  We will cut back to 1-2 next year.

Daisy the Dog

Delaney got Daisy for the whole weekend...she is the class pet.  She had to take pictures with her and write about their journey together and then share it with her class.  We had a fun-filled weekend with her!  She went to Family Promise and even saw Mrs. Doyle at church!

Delaney lost first tooth

Got to pull Delaney's first tooth out today on Blake's birthday!  This is the same day he lost his first one last year. The tooth fairy left fairy dust everywhere!  Even stick to the dollar! 

Christmas sayings

I have found many of these lying around the house this year that Delaney has written about the true meaning of Christmas.  She and Lilli Jane were even a part of the commercials we recorded at WRHI for Christmas Day this year saying a Bible Verse.  She loves her God and Jesus' birthday!

New friends

A few new friends for Delaney at school!  Ellen and another girl that she eats lunch with.  She finally stopped crying long enough for me to feel comfortable coming to eat lunch and leaving her without tears.  She likes to buy lunch as much as taking it, I think it's because of the chocolate milk!

She's scared of the snakes under her bed so we find her like this most nights. Her pretty new chair, fast asleep.

Snakes

Due to the "snakes" she thinks are under her bed Delaney sleeps in her chair. She itches when she's real tired and thinks it's snakes. My dad and I are the same way on the itching, never thought about it being snakes though!  Poor thing, fears at 5 years old are so real!

First Day of School

The first day of school was much easier this year on me...I loved seeing them walk in together...I will miss having Delaney with me though.  She was good the first day, then the first few weeks she got upset about going some.  She cried the first 3-4 days, and then when I stopped taking her and Blake walked her down it was easier on her.  She got worn out by 12 though and would cry at lunch some, I think her brain was just tired and it emotionally exhausted her.  She loves school, but in a bitter sweet way in the beginning.

Delaney's preschool Graduation

I can't believe two kids are already done with Oakland Dayschool!  Delaney enjoyed her graduation today!

Gymnastics Spring Show

Delaney did a great job on her spring show today for gymnastics.  This was the end of her preschool gymnastics journey, but it ended well and with a smile!  She loved her flowers Blake gave her.

Sweet Delaney

She got a new bathingsuit cover up for the summer and just had to wear it to school.  And she loves a countdown to something...can't remember what this one was for, but she made it and remembers to take one down once a day.
