Reading time with Daddy

This happens every night, one book, one time to cuddle and read with the kids...we rotate who reads and tonight it was daddy's turn and I just happen to be able to take a picture.  These are the times I don't want to forget.  The emotions that bedtime bring, good and bad.  They are only little once, I try to take it in, but it's so hard while it's in the midst of it.

Simple things

Just something about this load in Harris Teeter that makes me smile every time.  I used to think why don't they just get rid of those cars so kids wouldn't beg for them, but you see how many groceries I have, and walking would not have contained them enough, it's the only way to shop with more than 1 under 5 years old.  This is probably the last time this will happen though.  they did enjoy it and did get along though, I have done this several times.

1st day of summer!

We had a, "stay in your pjs and do Pinterest activities" day today for the first day of summer for the kids. Daddy still has another week with his kids, so we have lots of activities planned before we can go to the beach.

 

Sweet bedtime stories

One of those moments I want to remember because I know I don't have many more years of reading to them every night.

 

Up in the air...

We spend many days climbing on mommy, I guess it's the fun thing to do in a 4-year-old's mind, especially Delaney who loves gymnastics, flying, climbing, etc...but I have another one now too! She is following in her sister's footsteps too quick...this is my crazy gymnast girls. The second picture is my view, it's pretty cool! There was a time I could hold both big kids in the air, Blake on my feet and Delaney in my arms. I never got that picture, so I am saving this to remember how little they really are right now.

 

Standing

The kids are enjoying Lilli Jane now that she's moving a lot, walking a few steps and walking while holding their hand. They feel like a big help. I love their passion for her.

Delaney and I had a day to ourselves today and I told her to pick something for us to do together and she wanted to play doctor...she loves being imaginative and this is one of her favorites. I enjoyed our precious time together.

Bathtub fun

We got the blow up kayak for the beach, but somehow they managed to get it in my bathtub and have had a blast with that! A little water on the floor, but that's okay.

Bedtime

Bedtime is from about 7:20-7:45 in our house right now...we read 1-2 books usually together, and believe it or not they usually agree easy on books. They both love to read! Then we brush their teeth, potty, put a pull up on Delaney still and then separate to put them to bed one on one. We pray with them, talk with them, NAND sign a couple songs before turning on the dream light, closet light, and closing the doors. Most of the time they both stay in he heir rooms. Blake will say he's lonely sometimes, and Delaney will run around even leaving her overhead light on at times. They stay in there until 7 am when they are allowed to come out, best thing we have done! Lilli Jane is well on her way of doing this already too....no early risers wanted.

Climbers

I got two climbers on my hands now, this is how many of my afternoons are spent. Delaney does ask permission to climb sometimes, so we are getting better day to day. There will be a time I miss this, right? Blake took the picture, working on his photography skills, getting better!

 

Tasting Cookies

We made Gertie's sugar cookies today while stuck inside, they were approved. We took some to the neighbors and they enjoyed them too.

 

Barbie Dolls!

I got my old Barbie dolls out for Delaney to keep in her room during quiet time today. She loved them and is enjoying them like I used to. She is already teaching Lilli Jane about them.

 

Beautiful children

Lord bless these children, help them grow to be strong, passionate, healthy, forgiving, humble, and faithful. Guide me to raise them the way You need me to so that they grow up to follow You and love you. Amen
